PUBLICIST ON DEMAND CONSULTATION || I have space in March for one Publicist on Demand Consultation. This is ideal for people who need more support. In the past, I’ve helped clients create pitch templates, target new niches, create lists of speaking engagements, and conduct media training so they’re confident they’re delivering their message with max impact. You can read more about it here.
Last week, Sarah Bacerra and I hosted a virtual get-together around the theme of legacy, and it was hands-down one of the most powerful conversations I’ve had in a while.
Hearing about the lineages that have paved the way for the women in the room to live fully expressed was exactly the energy I needed to set the tone for the impending Lunar New Year.
2024 is the year of the Wood Dragon. Marisa Cranfill, from Yoqi, says, “In Chinese astrology, the Dragon is the only mythical creature among the twelve zodiac signs. It symbolizes power, ambition, creativity, movement and manifestation. Combined with the Wood element, these qualities will support growth and rapid transformation on the planet. Are you ready to fly?”
In my experience, but not always, growth and rapid transformation requires disruption.
To support that requirement this year, it’s clear to me that community is fundamental.
I’ve been taking the often uncomfortable but necessary steps of expanding my own, and it’s already led to beautiful results: a community of Asian women in my area that have invited me to a Lunar New Year lunch, new ideas about how to approach stuck points in my creative process, an increase in revenue, and my little one speaking Chinese with more confidence.
So, now, from the lens of visibility, I’ll turn the question over to you: Is there a person that you’ve been wanting to meet, simply because you like their energy? Could you reach out?
Here are some examples of ways that I’ve reached out to total strangers. All of these examples have led to magical connections, growth, and new opportunities.
龍光煥發! (May the radiant light of the dragon bring brilliance and success!)

PERSONAL » Hi! I saw one of your posts in the Spokane food group about the mapo tofu that you had. Then I noticed that you were Taiwanese. :) I am too although I was born in Michigan. Thought it would be nice to connect to another Taiwanese person in the area!
BUSINESS » Hey NAME! My name is Cher, and I'm a publicist. I was listening to your episode on my friend Brit Kolo's show yesterday and loved your story, expertise, and personality. If you're up for it, I'd love to have virtual coffee to get to know more about you, where your business is going, and hear about your travels. If that sounds like something fun for you, feel free to send over your cal link. And if you're slammed right now and it isn't a good time, no worries at all. Gratitude either way. :)
EVENT INVITE » Hi NAME! I hope you're having a beautiful start to 2024. You don’t know me, but I discovered you via a writing summit and love your frame on crafting stories that elicit a deep emotional release. As a publicist who works primarily with under-recognized communities and an aspiring novelist whose stories are all about grief and heritage, I deeply resonate with how you approach the page. Beyond the flattery, haha, I’m writing because I'm hosting a free, virtual get together, and I would love to invite you. Your insights on intuitive art, authentic living, and honoring your desire would weave beautifully within the group I’m curating. If you're free on Friday, January 26 @ 10:00am PT, we'll meet with a small group of other entrepreneurs for 90 minutes of connection and storytelling. The theme of this event will be: Honoring our capacity + learning to do less. If you're interested, here's the link to register. Please let me know if you have any questions, and I’m looking forward to hearing from you!
